Our 33 years of advocacy work has resulted in a number of landmark court cases and helped create a level playing field that rewards contractors who play by the rules.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/ffcm.org\/wordpress\/faq\/boston-skyline-on-a-sunny-day\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1011\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1011\" src=\"http:\/\/ffcm.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/iStock_000021149390_Large.jpg\" alt=\"Boston Skyline on a Sunny Day\" width=\"2459\" height=\"1639\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ffcm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/iStock_000021149390_Large.jpg 4098w, http:\/\/ffcm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/iStock_000021149390_Large-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/ffcm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/iStock_000021149390_Large-1024x682.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 2459px) 100vw, 2459px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Since its inception, the FFCM has:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Argued successfully that Massachusetts public bidding and prevailing wage laws apply to contracts on a variety of publicly-funded projects and entities, including charter schools, education collaboratives, leased dormitory buildings, telecommunications and cable work, maintenance contracts and hazardous waste cleanup work<\/li>\n<li>Fought to guarantee that certified payroll records are covered under Massachusetts public records laws<\/li>\n<li>Helped create responsible employer ordinances for cities and towns<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For public construction workers, our work has resulted in a series of &#8220;firsts&#8221;:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First worker class action lawsuit filed under the Private Right of Action Law<\/li>\n<li>First civil claim under MGL Chapter 149 section 28 which assisted workers in suing an awarding authority after a contractor failed to pay the prevailing wage<\/li>\n<li>First direct mail campaign, educating over 72,000 workers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Foundation for Fair Contracting of Massachusetts was established to ensure that contractors abide by the laws that govern public construction.
